We were approached by a large e-com business to re-design their brick and mortar store in the heart of Sydney CBD. The brief was simple; bring their existing store up from a 2/10 to a 7/10... In classic DAS fashion, we went above and beyond. Oz Hair is a contemporary female oriented business, the site is sleek, pink and poppin’ so that's what we went for.

In a remarkable collaboration, we were entrusted with the task of creating the Oz Hair and Beauty’s formal retail identity. Inspired by their contemporary feminine brand, we created a captivating ambiance with brushed stainless steel, white powder coated perforated metal, and concrete. The space seamlessly merged sleekness and vibrancy, featuring hyper modern joinery, stainless steel accents, and elegant concrete textures. With a pop of oz signature purple, the store provides an immersive atmosphere, inviting customers to explore the carefully curated products.

The collaboration between Darkside Architecture Studio (DAS) and Oz Hair and Beauty highlights the impact of thoughtful design and commitment to excellence. Over the past year, DAS has designed and gained approval for an additional ten stores across australia, balancing aesthetic vision with practical functionality.

NUFORMA PILATES

Nestled on a bustling pedestrian street in Sydney, the first Australian branch of Nuforma Pilates challenged us with tight timelines and a complex first-floor commercial terrace. But at DAS, we thrive on challenges — transforming the space into a sleek, modern sanctuary that offers a refined Pilates experience for fitness enthusiasts.

NATURES ENERGY

We brought the vision for Nature’s Energy Bathhouse to life through detailed 3D modeling and high-quality CGIs, crafted specifically for marketing. Our visualizations capture the bathhouse's tranquil ambiance, highlighting the natural textures, soft lighting, and serene design elements. These visuals not only showcase the space’s appeal but also communicate the holistic experience Nature’s Energy offers, making an impactful impression on potential visitors before they even step inside.

An inviting and functional fitout for the Activate UTS merchandising store, designed to draw in students, staff, and passersby along the bustling Jones Street. The interior maximizes display space while maintaining ample circulation for shoppers, offering a seamless retail experience. Custom storage solutions ensure the efficient organization of large format paper and stationery, while the thoughtful design balances the store’s historic architectural details with modern enhancements, including optimized glazing to reduce heat gain.

DRAYTONS WINERY

Transforming Drayton's Family Wines: A vibrant retail corridor pulses with life amidst the rustic elegance of an industrial winery in the Hunter Valley. Seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces, this design invites guests to savor exquisite tastes while surrounded by breathtaking views and the raw charm of steel and concrete.

ABOVE THE COLLAR

We embraced Above the Collar’s commitment to empowering men by translating their ethos into a sleek, modern retail pop-up concept. The design fosters an inviting and confident space where men can explore grooming products without judgment. Clean lines, contemporary finishes, and thoughtful lighting create a sophisticated ambiance, while interactive elements allow customers to engage with grooming techniques and products in line with the brand’s educational mission.

Our striking Pronto valet parking booth at Sydney Domestic Airport features a bold red and black design that captures attention and enhances brand identity. This innovative structure not only transforms the arrival experience for travelers but also significantly boosts customer convenience, setting a new standard for valet services in the industry.
